The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) conducts a Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) course in India. The course envisages educating students on the varying aspects of business management, fundamentals of accounting, business laws and ethical characteristics related to business operations. Cost and Management accounting facilitates in planning, controlling and monitoring the price and cost of service or product. CMA evaluates the efficiency of production as well as service management and operational efficiency by collection, compilation, organization, verification and analysis of information from various departments of an organization. CMA is a golden benchmark for management accountants.
Any student who has completed 10th or 12th can appear for CMA foundation exams. Graduation in any stream other than arts is exempted from CMA foundation exams. Such students can directly enrol into CMA Intermediate. Students are required to complete the computer training and soft skills training. Students who have successfully completed CMA Intermediate can apply CMA Final.The course is the entry gate to become a Cost and Management Accountant. The student with a business and management aptitude can do wonders during the course and on employment. Rather, we believe that each one of us has the quality to perform outstandingly if adequate coaching is provided.

CMA Foundation is the entrance level for CMA course. Any student who completed 10th or 12th can appear for CMA Foundation. 4 papers are included in this stage:

CMA Intermediate consists of 2 groups of 4 papers each and the exams are conducted twice in a year.
